 Royals Sign Juan Cruz for 2 years, 6 Million
Royals The Royals, intent on competing in 2009, signed free-agent reliever Juan Cruz to a two-year contract Saturday. The deal is worth $6 million, according to a major-league source. The deal includes a $3.5 million club option for a third season that could raise the total value to $9.5 million, the source said. None of the money is deferred.
