He got himself arrested, suspended from the team for two days without pay, and hurt his thumb so badly, it needs season-ending surgery for a torn ligament.

Lilburn native Jeff Francoeur, who's been losing playing time to rookie Fernando Martinez, has informed the Mets he'd like to be traded.

"We want to play every day," Francoeur's agent, Molly Fletcher, told the Newark Star-Ledger. "We prefer to play in New York. But if we're not going to play every day in New York, we absolutely welcome the opportunity to play every day somewhere else."
