Tsn.ca is reporting that "The Los Angeles Dodgers will be without their best hitter for the next 50 games.Major League Baseball confirmed that outfielder Manny Ramirez has tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs and will be suspended 50 games." Manny Ramirez stated that he would like to go back to his roots and play for the Indians again. "I would like to play for Cleveland one more time, to go back where I started" It was a great place to play for Ramirez and he has very fond memories of the Organization and the city of Cleveland. Manny Ramirez and the Dodgers officially agreed Wednesday on a $45 million, two-year contract that keeps him with the NL West champions. The slugger can void the second season of the deal and again become a free agent. Significant progress was made in contract talks Tuesday between the Dodgers and Manny Ramirez, who is flying to Los Angeles for a Wednesday meeting with club ownership that could result in a deal, according to a baseball source. "The Los Angeles Dodgers made another offer to Manny Ramirez on Wednesday, SI.com confirmed. The Dodgers' latest offer is like their original offer in that it's for $45 million over two years, but the new twist is that Ramirez could opt out after one year. Ramirez would be paid $25 million in 2009 and $20 million next season if he exercises his player option.
